I am pleased to have Hunter from www.preponabudget.com over here with us today. As you know.. I have just recently started this Blogging Tips Series, and I am so glad to have one of my favorites here to discuss an important part of blogging: Communication. I hope that you enjoy all that she has to say, and make sure you go check her out! {Also, if you want to be a part of my Blogging Tips Series, all you have to do is email me!}
Last week Cathleen emailed me asking if I would like to be a part of a new series she is hosting on her blog: the blogger tip series! I thought this sounded like a great idea so I immediately jumped on board to write a post on one of the most important tips to keep in mind while blogging.
One thing I cannot stress enough about blogging is, it is all about communication. No matter what you will be constantly communicating with other bloggers, sponsors, companies, etc. And it is important that you know the right way to communicate!
When I first started blogging, I had never really needed to communicate on a larger scale; however, I soon realized how important it was that I did. After the first month I made sure I kept commenting on blogs and finding new blogs as well. This process A) forced me to communicate better and B) expanded my reading horizon. I met so many great bloggers just through commenting!
The next point of communication that is vital to blogging is email. I send emails all the time and it is my main way of keeping in contact with my sponsors, as well as my blogging friends and my mentor. You should always keep a professional persona when you email, especially for sponsors and companies. Only once you get to know that person should be more casual. Oh, and never be afraid to reach out to fellow bloggers or companies! It will definitely help out in the long run!
Lastly, you should always keep a good image on your social media outlets. These are probably the biggest areas of communication you will have as a blogger so it is important to keep them up to date. I tend to slack on Twitter mostly because I am not used to using it-- I never really jumped on the bandwagon when it came out haha; but, I love using Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook and I always make sure I keep those updated. Social media tends to create the most "buzz" about you and your blog, so I would create a few accounts for your blog if you haven't yet!
So, those are my tips on communicating for bloggers! I am so happy to be a part of this series and so thankful to Cathleen for inviting me :)
Great tips Hunter!
