Oconee State Park is a second home to me. I love the hiking trails, the geese, the CCC cabins, waterfalls, the main office, and well... everything about the park. I wore this outfit this week, but because I was so swamped with school, and it's raining today that I couldn't take pictures of another outfit I planned to share for a collab with Samantha, Lauren, Brooke, Amelie, Hannah, and Sophia. For the collab, the girls and I are sharing outfits from this past week! Here's a little something I wore this Wednesday xo

And of course I had to throw in a canoe throwback from Oconee! Happy weekend, friends! 

A Quick Oconee Recap

Sometimes you just need to go breathe some fresh, mountain air. Wednesday afternoon we drove a few hours up to our favorite, Oconee State Park. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw my pictures. In short, my brief venture to Oconee was filled with canoe ride after canoe ride... so many rides I barely left the boat this morning. We rented our favorite cabin, cabin five, the same place where we kicked off the New Year in 2015! So aside from a bright red canoe, celebrating my older brother's 17th birthday, visiting with friends, watching Isaac and my dad race (more on this in a minute), visiting White Water Falls, antique shopping, and slipping here and there all in the mud. But let's get to the fun part, pictures!

I always, and I mean ALWAYS sit in the back of the canoe and steer. But, when we were picking up the canoe from the office, daddy made me sit in the front... 

Ignore those ladies in the back taking a picture... This was while Isaac's runner was doing a quick practice run. See, my older brother Isaac just turned 17. He has pretty severe autism, and this race was put together through an organization my family and I are familiar with. Isaac loves being pushed in races, and special shoutout to this runner especially... I don't think I could push Isaac up and down those hills! Team Penguin came in first place out of the other chair racers! 

After the race, we headed to our dear friend Faith's house for homemade pizza, gift exchange, and cookie frosting!

Apparently, I'm too cool to wear a moldy life jacket in a picture for instagram... something about it's just not classy? 

We found an adorable antique shop in Walhalla, and I snapped a few photos during our perusing. 

The next day we ventured into North Carolina to visit White Water Falls which was absolutely incredible.

This was our last morning... and my fourth canoe ride. Before I snapped this photo, my brother was singing Yellow Submarine and my sister was rapping Baby by Justin Beiber... good times... good times...

So Christmas break was fun... and now it's over. I've been stress cleaning all night and just laid down to write this. It's about 12:30 AM. Stay tuned for another post a little later on today!

Oconee Recap

For those of you following along with me on Instagram, you know that last Thursday - Sunday I had a pretty awesome Instagram takeover by some of my bestest blogging friends! It was everything I asked for and more, and I seriously was blown away. Thanks ladies so so much:) But anyways, while they were taking over I was riding around on a big red canoe around the lake at Oconee State Park. We always end up staying in one of the CCC original cabins at the State Park, and I love it so much. So... Here's some more photos, and here's what happened!

The folks in the cabin next door, cabin 6, had rented the only red canoe that Oconee has. I was jealous. I saw it pulled up on the bank, and I just wanted it soooo bad. At the time, we had rented a Jon boat just for fishing and to go on little ride-a-rounds. On Saturday, the folks in 6 checked out. Jonathan and I paddled as fast as we could over to the office to go switch out the boats, and bring this beautiful, red canoe home. 

As an early birthday present, I got a hammock that I can use when we go out camping or at a cabin or anything. I absolutely love it. It's purple and blue and has plenty of extra space to move around in. It was actually a groupon find!

Briefly recapping: On Friday night we went to Oconee's square dance. I'm not much of a dancer except for you know, when I'm by myself.. but it was super fun to watch! Earlier on Friday we surprised my mom by throwing a little anniversary party for her and my dad in the back room with some rangers and park staff. She absolutely loved it! Saturday we went to visit some friends. Faith, who has some profound special needs going on. We had some super yummy chicken, zucchini, and corn on the cob followed by s'mores and frozen yogurt. If you follow along with me on snapchat, then you know about Cupcake the poodle. Also, their house has the most perfect decorations. Like it's all beach-y themed and I love it.. check out their bathroom in the photo below!

And the flowers blooming up there right now are INCREDIBLE! The tiger lilies, the silver bells, the mountain laurel (I think that's what it's called). They're just way too beautiful.

So I always end up in the back of the canoe which kinda sucks. I have to steer while my brother rows, but for photo opportunity sakes.. I wish I could sit in the front haha

Hunter Green + Oconee

One of my family's favorite places to visit is Oconee State Park in my home state of South Carolina. We enjoy staying in the CCC original cabins at the park. Our last trip was the week of new year's, so it was a lot of fun to welcome in 2015 at one of my favorite places. My brother was the one that told me that this outfit would be good on the blog.. So of course I listened to him! He offered to help me and take photos, so here's an outfit that I didn't get published.... Until now! I hope you enjoy this super simple, and basic look that I just had on a typical day in the cabin. 

It was super windy especially right up next to the lake so my hair doesn't look like it does in those first two pictures all the time haha. It feels good to finally get this post up.. It's been sitting in my drafts since January first. These were also the last pictures I took on my dad's Nikon dslr before getting my new Canon Rebel T5! Super excited for what's to come this year..
