2015 Classy Cathleen in review

Can you believe it? Friday marks the beginning of a new year. A new year full of new adventures just waiting to be discovered. It's crazy how fast a year can go by. Why this time last year I was sitting on my bed writing my 300th blog post, about to celebrate my first blogging. I really am proud of all my posts from 2015, all my accomplishments, the many adventures I embarked on... It's been an incredible year. I have y'all, my amazing readers to thank for part of that. Seriously, what would I do without you guys reading these random blog posts of a scatterbrained 15 year old. Whatever made you want to visit my site... I am so grateful for. Sending love & many thanks to all of you! Here are my favorite posts from my blog this past year broken down by months:

Faux Fur & PearlyMay Designs

I'm quite possibly the most awkward person when it comes to taking pictures for the blog. Some people can just smile and get these fabulous photos and I just don't know how they do it. This vest has been featured in countless Instagram posts and a few blog posts... Like this one  and this one (throwback to October, freshman year). It's one of my favorites from my mom's closet (it's about 15 years old...) and it matches way more than you would think. Also, this Piko shirt dress is one of the most comfortable pieces I own. They're also very well priced... Only $21!

I recently visited a holiday bazaar at a local church, and met a vendor with some fabulous cards. You know me, I'm obsessed with cards and stationery. Pearly May Designs  sells well priced, high quality cards and other paper goods that I am in love with. Keep scrolling through to see what I ordered, and be sure you check out Lora's etsy shop!

Goals (Update)

source
Can y'all freaking believe it?! It's July.

Just saying that is crazy.

ANYWAYS, if you're new here.. This is just something I do monthly. I keep track of my original goals I had placed for 2015, and update y'all on how I'm doing. Honestly this post is for me. You can read, skim, or not read.. I really don't care.

ORIGINAL Goals for 2015
Smile more
~ Quality over Quantity (in everything. not just blogging)
~ Work on my handwriting (because mine sucks)
~ Stay active on social media (yet another thing I suck at. unless we're talking about Pinterest...)
~ Build a loyal Classy Cathleen following (I would really love to find new readers this year!)
~ Instagram more (and another thing I'm awful at. It's a miracle if I post more than once a month.)
~ Continue to practice photography skills (I love photography, so I obviously want to get better)
~ Fix up old posts to make them the best they can be (some of my posts when I first started out were not good at all.... so I want to fix them up, and republish them out their on the web!)
~ Write more letters (snail mail is becoming a lost art, and I am determined to help to bring it back)

Smile more- I'm alright on this one. I don't see as many people over the Summer, and usually when I do they don't need as much encouragement as people at school do hahaha. But I have been trying to watch what I say and think about the results of what I say. My goal has been for myself to smile more, build other people up, but really I've learned that I need to just pay closer attention to others, then build them up.

Quality over Quantity- I'm really so proud of this. Last Summer my blog was a load of BS. All I did was share crummy pictures and put together collages and share them with y'all. Those posts sucked. I had like 5 going up a day because I was way more focused on quantity. This year, I'm so proud of how I've stopped myself from going crazy with posts and think about quality.

Handwriting- It's getting there.. I mean in the Sunday School class I help out in, this little girl, Savannah told me I had beautiful handwriting. That's gotta count for something, right?

Active on Social- CHECK CHECK CHECK! Now I just gotta stick with it through the school year..

Okay I seriously have the most amazing readers ever. Y'all make me smile. My birthday was the best ever thanks to you guys. From all the sweet messages and emails to those who came to my virtual ice cream party, y'all are just the best. I'm so blessed.

Instagram more... YES! I love my Instagram, and I post at least once a day.. but most the time it's like 4-7 times #sorryimnotsorry

As y'all have seen in this post, and this one, you know I've been practicing my photography..

AGAIN I HAVE YET to update old posts... It'll happen eventually.

I have been sending out at least one letter a week for the past month. I also joined the Snail Mail Sisters which paired me with 3 lovely girls, Faith, Syd, and Sophia

Quick Reminder that the Bloggers Get Cookin' Linkup GOES LIVE TOMORROW! Can't wait to see what all you lovelies have cooked up for the linkup! Here's the info if you have no idea what I'm talking about.

Birthday in Greenville

If you remember a few posts back... I had some pre-birthday adventures in Columbia. Well, for my actual birthday, we headed up to Greenville, South Carolina. Also can I just say, I have the best readers and friends!! All your birthday texts, comments, tweets, instagram ice cream posts, and emails just made me the happiest girl in the world!! Thank you so much everyone :) It was an incredible birthday!

Our first stop was this super fun little gallery, Christopher Park Gallery. My momma had originally discovered it when looking for places that sold Ernest Lee aka "The Chicken Man"'s artwork. He's pretty  hard to track down.. so it was nice to see some of his work in a gallery. I loved all the artwork the gallery had on display!

Here's some of The Chicken Man's work.

More Chicken Man...

And Even more...

Also, they own a little cafe! It's covered in funky artwork, and the sandwiches are INCREDIBLE! We'll totally be coming back. If you're looking for a nice little place to eat in Greenville... Totally stop at Rainer's Cafe.

Since it was my birthday, and I was hosting a virtual Ice Cream party.. #ccicecreamparty (thanks to everyone who participated.. y'all are the greatest!) We had to go find some ice cream.. We couldn't really find anything along the street we were walking on until we walked past Blueberry Frog, a FroYo place! SO SO GOOD.

The lighting was a little shaky.. but my Fro yo was incredible, and so cute! I mean it's covered in rainbow sprinkles...

After picking up some yogurt, we headed to the park. It was BEAUTIFUL! So many flowers, a Shakespeare play rehearsal, fun little stairs and trails, a huge bridge, benches, swings, waterfalls... I loved it. I absolutely cannot wait until I start visiting and touring campuses these next few years. I can't wait to tour Furman and revisit the greenville area. Here are some photos as we were walking along. P.S.. It's a lot of photos!

and here's the bridge:

but seriously these Piko dresses are insanely comfortable.. I'm obsessed! And only like $21! #steal! Mine's awkward in this picture because of my bag.. It's not one of those High-low things.

an awkward little candid

Here's the Shakespeare rehearsal I was talking about..

I really wanted to stop by this building before we left.. mainly because Postcard From Paris Couture totally reminds me of Postcard from Paris by The Band Perry.

We came across this mysterious little dungeon thing.. It even had a little bench in it. I thought it was creepy so I took off up the stairs.

All these tiger lilies are crazy beautiful

That awkward moment when you're with your fam and an hour to two away from home and you come across someone from your school and you make eye contact and he starts to walk closer.. God Bless for hydrangeas and being a flower obsessed blogger with a camera.

When you walk past this building you can hear train sounds.

Sorry for the picture overload... I gotta stop overwhelming y'all with posts like this! Overall I had an incredible birthday, and I cannot believe I AM NOW 15! Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend...
